HOUSTON, Aug. 14 -- Bluewater Industries Inc., project manager of Mirage field on behalf of 100% owner and operator ATP Oil & Gas Corp., has let a contract to Technip for subsea structures for the field's development. Mirage, which could begin production in 2008, is in the Gulf of Mexico on Mississippi Canyon Block 941 in 4,050 ft of water (OGJ Online, July 27, 2006).

The contract is for engineering and installation of two steel catenary risers and two oil and gas export flowlines, one 31 km and the other 52 km. Technip also will fabricate and install subsea structures and jumpers.

Technip's operations and engineering center in Houston will execute the contract. The flowlines and risers will be welded at the Group's spoolbase in Mobile, Ala., during first quarter 2008.

Technip's Deep Blue deepwater pipelay reel vessel will lay the pipelines in 2008, with support from the chartered Geoholm light construction vessel.
