HOUSTON, July 16 -- Explorer Pipeline on July 14 detected a leak of jet fuel from a 28-in. section of its products pipeline, in Huntsville, Tex., 70 miles north of Houston, the company reported.

The line was shut down immediately, Explorer said. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the leak has not yet been determined.

The company expected to have the line repaired and tested on July 16, and will resume operation in the morning July 17.

The leak occurred in a horse pasture and an unspecified amount of product leaked into a creek bed. Response teams on site blocked the product from going further downstream and are actively recovering the lost product.
