HOUSTON, July 2 -- Enventure Global Technology LLC has drilled a well with a uniform inside diameter (ID) across three successive liners in Oklahoma.

Uniform ID across multiple liners is an industry first, the company said.

The well, completed in April, was drilled to field test Enventure's MonoDiameter technology. The well achieved expansion of three consecutive liners with a uniform 10.4 in. ID. Enventure served as the well operator.

Conventional solid expandable tubular (SET) technology greatly decreases the tapering effect of wellbore casing designs, which has been a barrier to viable economics on potentially significant reservoir finds.

However, Enventure's technology eliminates the tapering effect, the Houston-based company said.

The drilling technology will give operators "more control over liner lengths, enabling them to drill wells deeper with optimum hole size for production," Enventure said.
