HOUSTON, July 18 -- Michael C. Coffman, co-president and chief financial officer for Panhandle Oil & Gas Inc., will assume the full role of president on Aug. 8.

Coffman succeeds Co-Pres. and Chief Operating Officer Ben D. Hare, who, on the same date, will relinquish his roles for health reasons. Hare, however, will assume the title of technical and operations advisor to the president and will continue to serve as a member of the board.

Coffman has been with Panhandle for 17 years in various executive positions, and he and Hare have served as co-presidents since March 2006.

The company immediately will begin a search for a new chief operating officer.
