HOUSTON, June 7 -- The US Army Corps of Engineers issued a final permit authorizing Falcon Gas Storage Co. Inc. to operate and construct a 50 bcf MoBay Gas Storage Hub in Mobile County, Ala. Falcon Gas is based in Houston.

MoBay will provide services to gas utilities, electric power generators, and industrial endusers. The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized MoBay in December 2006. The hub's initial 12 bcf of capacity is scheduled to be operational in October (OGJ, Mar. 20, 2006, Newsletter).

An interstate gas storage facility, MoBay will interconnect with as many as eight interstate pipelines and gas processing facilities, tripling the underground storage capacity in Alabama.
