HOUSTON, May 15 -- Two independents plan to explore mainly for gas in several formations in San Jacinto County, Tex., in an area on trend with Double A Wells field in Polk County.
Texas independent Pan American Development Co. Inc. and Horizon Industries Ltd., Vancouver, BC, plan to explore 3,100 acres 50 miles north of Houston. Initial work calls for development of gas in Jackson sands at 2,800 ft with as many as five wells. A second Jackson sand may be present at 3,100 ft.
A second phase may expand the program to more than 6,500 acres. Eocene Jackson, Yegua, Cook Mountain, and Wilcox and Cretaceous Woodbine have produced in the area.
The companies plan to shoot 100 sq miles of 2D seismic surveys.
