HOUSTON, May 30 -- Chevron Trinidad & Tobago Resources SRL and BG Group have reached an agreement with National Gas Co. of Trinidad & Tobago Ltd. (NGC) to supply gas for use in the twin-island Caribbean nation.

The agreement calls for 220 MMcfd of gas to be delivered to NGC for 11 years, beginning in 2009. The agreement also includes an option to extend the primary term for an additional 4 years.

The gas is expected to come from Dolphin field, which began production in 1996. Four new development wells are planned to provide the additional gas.

Dolphin field is 52 miles off eastern Trinidad and Tobago in the East Coast Marine Area, in which Chevron and operator BG each have a 50% interest.
