Holly chief executive gets added role

Matthew P. Clifton, chief executive officer for Holly Corp., Dallas, has been selected for the added role of chairman.

HOUSTON, Apr. 9 -- Matthew P. Clifton, chief executive officer for Holly Corp., Dallas, has been selected for the added role of chairman. He succeeds Lamar Norsworthy, who has served as chairman since 1977 and as chief executive since 1971.

Clifton joined Holly more than 25 years ago. Most recently, he served as president of the company from 1995 through 2005. He previously served as Holly's senior vice-president from 1991-95 and as the company's vice-president of economics, engineering, and legal affairs from 1988-91.

Clifton also serves as chairman and chief executive for Holly subsidiary Holly Energy Partners LP, which began operations in July 2004.
