JV adds three LNG vessels for Peru LNG project

Repsol YPF SA and Gas Natural Stream have acquired three LNG carriers for their joint-venture Peru LNG project.

LONDON, Mar. 5 -- Repsol YPF SA and Gas Natural Stream have acquired three LNG carriers for their joint-venture Peru LNG project.

The vessels, one obtained under a time charter party agreement with Armador Elcano and two with Knutsen OAS, will start operations in 2010.

Each tanker, which is membrane reinforced, has the capacity to transport 173,000 cu m of LNG.

The JV will receive another two additional tankers, one in December and another in 2009. In 2010 Repsol YPF and Gas Natural Stream will have 16 LNG tankers ranging in capacity from 35,000 cu m to 173,000 cu m.
