LONDON, Mar. 1 -- The Karsto gas and processing plant north of Stavanger will be upgraded with a $49.1-65.5 million compressor. It will be installed by Oct. 1, 2008.

The upgrade will increase pressure from Karsto , allowing the complex to send more gas through the Europipe II pipeline to Dornum in Germany, said Statoil ASA, the technical service provider for the plant.

MW Kellogg will execute the engineering work for the upgrade, and construction will begin late this year or early 2008 alongside regular plant operations.

Gassco, the Norwegian gas pipeline operator, operates Karsto complex, and the plant is owned by the Gassled partnership.
