LONDON, Feb. 6 -- Indago Petroleum Ltd. has started drilling the Al Jariya-1 exploration well on the Jebel Hafit prospect on Block 31 onshore Oman. The well has so far reached 103 m in a 26-in. hole with 30-in. casing already set.

Indago intends to drill the well to TD 5,900 m within 125-160 days and hit Natih and Thamama formations, which produce gas and condensate in analogue structures such as Shams, Saj'aa, and Margham.

Al Jariya-1 is targeting a mean, gas-condensate reserve base of about 1 billion boe, Indago said. The well is the second in the company's onshore drilling program for 2007.

The company shot 100 km of 2D seismic over its leads on Blocks 31 and 47 onshore Oman, which have shown encouraging results.
