HOUSTON, Dec. 4 -- Mitsui & Co. Ltd. acquired a 15% interest in two oil and gas exploration blocks off southernmost Namibia from operator BHP Billiton
The blocks, 220 km offshore, are 2813A, covering 11,000 sq km, and 2814B, covering 18,000 sq km. The blocks are in the Orange basin south and west of undeveloped Kudu gas field.
Working interests are now BHP Billiton 75%, Mitsui Atlantic Energy BV 15%, and PetroSA 10%.
