Sonocracking unit due Austrian refinery

OMV Refining & Marketing GMBH has signed an agreement with SulphCo Inc. for the installation of a 15,000-b/d sonocracking reactor at OMV's 208,600-b/cd refinery in Schwechat, Austria.

HOUSTON, Oct. 20 -- OMV Refining & Marketing GMBH has signed an agreement with SulphCo Inc. for the installation of a 15,000-b/d sonocracking reactor at OMV's 208,600-b/cd refinery in Schwechat, Austria.

The agreement outlines the basic responsibilities of both parties to permit, install, and operate the unit. It further defines each party's responsibilities regarding commercial considerations once the unit is operational.

The sonocracking unit is already built and is stored at SulphCo's primary equipment supplier, NTG GMBH, Gelnhausen, Germany.

SulphCo said it will continue to rely on NTG to assist with engineering and installation interface between OMV and SulphCo.
