LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 -- Talisman Malaysia Ltd. has awarded a $70 million contract to Petrovietnam subsidiary Petroleum Technical Services Co. for engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction of topsides for three wellhead riser platforms in Malaysia's Northern field. The work is part of the Bunga Orkid/Parka oil and gas development project.
Total fabrication will involve about 3,000 tonnes. The project is scheduled for completion within 12 months.
Last year, Talisman Malaysia, a subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc., Calgary, reported first oil production Aug. 14 from its South Angsi field on Block PM-305 off Malaysia (OGJ Online, Aug. 15, 2005).
