LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 -- OAO Gazprom has concluded a 30-year agreement with China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) to deliver natural gas to China beginning in 2011, pending approval by the Russian government.

Gazprom and CNPC reportedly have completed technical and economic feasibility studies for the project, which will feature a unified system for the development and transportation of natural gas in Eastern Siberia and the Far East.

At a conference in Moscow where they announced the agreement, Gazprom officials said gas development should reach 30-40 billion cu m (bcm)by 2010, 90-100 bcm by 2015, 110-120 bcm by 2020, and 120-130 bcm by 2030. The officials did not say when they expected Russia's approval for the gas exports.

As part of the agreement, the Russian republic of Altai said it plans to sign an agreement with Gazprom after Sept. 20 to lay a 500-km section of the gas pipeline from western Siberia to China. Gazprom and Altai reportedly have appointed a working group to establish the route of the section.
