HOUSTON, Aug. 8 -- WW Energy Inc., a Farmington, NM, holding company, expects to raise production to 3.5 MMcfd of gas within 30 days from 450,000 leasehold acres it plans to acquire in three areas of northern Montana.

The company signed a letter of intent to buy 41% of a private company's interests in oil and gas production in the areas and 20 miles of pipeline. It also is negotiating to buy the remaining 59% interest in nonproducing assets.

The purchase includes producing wells, saltwater disposal leases, rights-of-way, disposal wells, shut-in wells, and associated properties, including a gas-gathering system.

WW Energy identified the areas it is purchasing as the Sweetgrass Hills play in Toole and Liberty counties, the North Bear Paws play in Hill County, and the Bowdoin play in Phillips and Valley counties.

The acquired acreage holds proved pay in the Upper Cretaceous Bowdoin zone and Eagle sandstone; Lower Cretaceous Mannville channel sands, Blackleaf formation, and Bow Island sandstone; and Jurassic Sawtooth sandstone. The properties are close to production from the Upper Cretaceous second White Specks, Lower Cretaceous Sunburst B, Upper Jurassic Swift, Mississippian Madison, and Devonian Nisku and Duperow formations.
