LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 -- Japan Energy Corp. plans to spend about ¥2 billion at its Mizushima Refinery in Okayama Prefecture to increase capacity to 300,000 b/d and add processing units.

The work will take place in the first half of fiscal 2007, and the units are expected to be in operation by Jan 2008.

The increase follows ¥500 million worth of work completed in June on pipelines and peripheral equipment, raising the plant's output to 200,000 b/d from 190,000 b/d.
