HOUSTON, July 11 -- Urals Energy PCL subsidiary ZAO Arcticneft plans a deeper-pool test in Peshanoozersky oil field on Kolguyev Island in the Barents Sea off Russia.

Arcticneft, field operator, recently received rights to test zones below the Lower Triassic Charkobozhskaya Suite.

It will drill a sidetrack after reentering a well drilled in 1986 that tested 180 b/d of oil from Permian pay. Geologic data indicate the well penetrated the edge of a Permian reef structure at 2,743-61 m TVD.

Arcticneft will acquire seismic data before drilling the sidetrack and drill other wells as warranted by results.

It already had planned to drill four Peschanoozersky development wells in the second half.
