HOUSTON, July 11 -- Ithaca Energy Inc.'s London-based subsidiary Energy (UK) Ltd. has let contract to Global Santa Fe turnkey drilling contractor Applied Drilling Technology International (ADTI), Aberdeen, for two wells in the UK North Sea in 2007.

Ithaca Energy, Calgary, said ADTI's GSF Magellan jack up will drill one well on its 100% owned Beatrice Alpha North prospect in the Inner Moray Firth, 25 km off Scotland. The well, potentially on Block 12/21c about 1,000 m from the closest well in nearby Beatrice oil field, B-13, will be drilled to 2,225 m to test a potential Beatrice extension.

Drilling is expected to begin in first-quarter 2007 and take about 30 days. If the well is successful, Ithaca said, it will be cased and completed for production.

The company said the second well will be drilled either on another prospect on the Beatrice license area or in the North Sea's Southern Gas basin.
