Flint Hills lets contract for coker work

Flint Hills Resources LP has let a contract to Foster Wheeler USA Corp. to handle process design for replacement of the coker island at its 280,000-b/d Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, Minn.

HOUSTON, July 20 -- Flint Hills Resources LP has let a contract to Foster Wheeler USA Corp. to handle process design for replacement of the coker island at its 280,000-b/d Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, Minn.

The contract covers the coke drums, coker structure, and blowdown system and includes procurement of long-lead items.

Flint Hills is expanding the refinery's distillation capacity by 50,000 b/d (OGJ, Jan. 3, 2005, Newsletter).
