HOUSTON, July 11 -- China National Offshore Oil Co. Ltd. has made an oil and gas discovery with its Luda (LD) 6-2-1 wildcat in about 30 m of water in the Liaodong Bay area of China's Bohai Bay.
LD 6-2-1 reached a TD of 2,395 m. On a drillstem test it flowed 620 b/d of oil and 240 Mcfd of gas through a 7.14 mm choke.
The LD 6-2 discovery follows the start-up of more than 2,200 b/d of oil from the new LD 5-2 field, which CNOOC Ltd. also operates with 100% interest (OGJ Online, Nov. 21, 2005).
