Amoruso field owners see 22 wells by yearend

Leor Energy LP, Houston, and EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. expect to have drilled 22 wells in Amoruso natural gas field in Robertson County, Tex., by the end of 2006.

HOUSTON, July 28 -- Leor Energy LP, Houston, and EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. expect to have drilled 22 wells in Amoruso natural gas field in Robertson County, Tex., by the end of 2006.

The joint field owners currently have four rigs working in the Deep Bossier trend field and expect to have eight rigs active within the next few months. Seven Amoruso wells are producing a gross 65 MMcfd of gas. Three wells await completion.

One recently completed Amoruso well tested 32 MMcfd of gas from a single zone in the Jurassic Lower Bossier formation. Two other recent completions tested 19 MMcfd and 15 MMcfd.

The field lies next to Conoco Phillips's Savell field, which produces more than 200 MMcfd of gas.

Leor has sold about 7,400 net acres in its Amoruso holding to EnCana for $242.9 million in cash and 4,039 net acres adjacent to its Amoruso leasehold.

After the transaction, Leor holds interests in about 50,000 gross acres in Robertson County and 150,000 gross acres in the Deep Bossier trend.
