HOUSTON, June 15 -- Statoil ASA has let a 700 million kroner contract to Vetco Aibel for installation of a compressor module on the Sleipner B platform to increase gas and condensate production of Sleipner West field on Production Licenses 046 in the Norwegian North Sea.
Vetco will handle engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the 1,100-tonne module, scheduled to be installed in 2008. A contract for transportation and lifting of the module on board the platform is to be assigned this summer.
Without pressure support, production from the field, which started up in 1996, will begin to decrease in 2007, Statoil said.
