HOUSTON, June 29 -- Nexen Inc., Calgary, reported the successful installation of production facilities at its Buzzard project, which is to come on stream later this year in the UK North Sea.
The company said the 12,000-tonne production deck and the 11,000-tonne living quarters and utilities deck, along with two connecting bridges and flare boom have been installed onto the structural legs of the Buzzard facility, which will process as much as 200,000 b/d of oil and 60 MMcfd of gas.
Nexen, operator, has a 43.2% interest in Buzzard. Other interests are Petro-Canada 29.9%, BG Group PLC 21.7%, and Edinburgh Oil & Gas PLC 5.2%.
