Toreador logs gas in well off Turkey

Toreador Resources Corp., Dallas, plans to test 25 m of gas sand logged in the Bayhanli-1 well in the South Akcakoca subbasin on the Black Sea shelf off Turkey.

HOUSTON, May 24 -- Toreador Resources Corp., Dallas, plans to test 25 m of gas sand logged in the Bayhanli-1 well in the South Akcakoca subbasin on the Black Sea shelf off Turkey.

It also will perforate at least another 25 m after producing the initial interval. The pay zones are between 760 m and 1,115 m TVD in the Eocene Kusuri formation.

Bayhanli-1 was drilled on a new prospect to the east of the Dogu Ayazli structure and along the same fault trend (OGJ Online, Mar. 9, 2006).
