HOUSTON, May 11 -- Talisman Energy Inc., Calgary, has begun production from another deep gas well in the prolific Monkman area of northeastern British Columbia. It also recently tested gas at strong rates from two Triassic wells there.

The deep well, Brazion d-93-D/93-P-5, is flowing at a constrained rate of up to 33 MMcfd from Paleozoic strata. The gross raw rate is 42 MMcfd. The well was tied-in within 2 months of the original completion test because of accessibility of infrastructure. Talisman holds an 80% interest in the well, and Seneca Energy Canada Inc. holds 20%.

Talisman's b-60-E well, a Monkman Paleozoic well completed, had peak sales gas production of 70 MMcfd and currently produces 50 MMcfd. Talisman Pres. and Chief Executive Jim Buckee described the new well as "in the same league."

The d-93-D well, drilled 8 km southeast of b-60-E, has early indications of original gas in place of up to 100 bcf, Talisman said.

The company plans to drill another deep well this year and to shoot the second phase of a major 3D seismic program in the Brazion area, an action Talisman expects will lead to additional Paleozoic and Triassic drilling locations for 2007 and beyond.

In the Triassic play, Talisman recently one gas well at the rate of 30 MMcfd and another at 16 MMcfd. Talisman plans to bring them on stream by the third quarter.
