HOUSTON, May 11 -- The Canadian unit of Hunt Oil Co., Dallas, and Paramount Resources Ltd., Calgary, are placing on production a 2005 new field discovery at Puskwa/Crooked Creek in the greater Grande Prairie area.

The Hunt Oil 13-33-71-26w5 well, on a farmout from Paramount, tested at rates up to 5,000 b/d of oil from Devonian Beaverhill Lake with little pressure drawdown.

The well has averaged 2,500 b/d since going on production in April 2006 after construction of a new tank battery and gas plant and will remain at the restricted allowable. Paramount retained 22% interest.

A delineation well 11-3-72-26w5 was successful in the same formation and will go on production in the quarter ending June 30. Five more wells, the first of which is drilling at 6-4-72-26w5, are planned during 2006, and a 3D seismic survey has been completed.

Paramount is drilling a well to test the Beaverhill Lake at 4,200 m in the Karr/Gold Creek area with results expected later this month.
