HOUSTON, May 16 -- El Paso Exploration & Production Co. has brought online two deep shelf gas wells in the Gulf of Mexico.

West Cameron 75 and 62, which lie about 12 miles off Cameron, La., in 32 ft of water, are flowing at a gross combined rate of 52 MMcfd of equivalent (20 MMcfd net; OGJ, Feb. 28, 2005, p. 9).

El Paso, operator of both wells, expects to bring six other Gulf of Mexico and South Louisiana discoveries on stream this year. It plans to begin drilling 14 additional wells in the regions by yearend.

El Paso has an extensive gulf workover program in progress plus 24 MMcfd of gas equivalent of production shut in by hurricanes that is scheduled to be recovered before yearend.
