Contract let for Tapti platform work

The joint venture operating the Tapti gas fields off western India has let contract to Cuel Ltd., Bangkok, for construction of a 2,500-tonne substructure for a process-compression platform; a 1,200-tonne, four-leg jacket with piles; and a flare tower and bridge.

HOUSTON, May 18 -- The joint venture operating the Tapti gas fields off western India has let contract to Cuel Ltd., Bangkok, for construction of a 2,500-tonne substructure for a process-compression platform; a 1,200-tonne, four-leg jacket with piles; and a flare tower and bridge.

The joint venture involves BG Exploration & Production India Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corp., and Reliance Industries Ltd.

Cuel's contract covers procurement, engineering, fabrication, load-out, and sea-fastening. The fabrication will be carried out at its yard in Laem Chabang, Chonburi Province, in eastern Thailand.

The facilities are scheduled for sail-out by the end of January 2007.
