Western Gas Resources makes vice-president appointments

Western Gas Resources Inc. made several vice-presidential appointments.

HOUSTON, Mar. 3 -- Western Gas Resources Inc. made several vice-presidential appointments.

The company appointed Paul G. Gagnon vice-president of Western Gas Resources Canada.

Prior to joining WGR in March 2005 as general manager, Canada, Gagnon served as president and chief operating officer for Calver Resources Inc., a private exploration and production company focused on exploitation of unconventional natural resources in the US and western Canada.

Separately, Rex L. Specht was appointed vice-president, operations. He has served as general manager, operations, since April 2003 after joining WGR in 1991. Previously, he worked for Union Texas Petroleum for 17 years.

Also Mark R. Petry was appointed vice-president, land. He has served as director of land since June 2000 and joined WGR in 1991. Previously, he worked for Ladd Petroleum Corp. for 7 years.
