BANGKOK, Mar. 15 -- Encouraged by tests of an appraisal well, Hoang Long Joint Operating Co. will expedite development of Te Giac Trang (TGT) oil field on Block 16-1 off southern Vietnam (OGJ Online, Mar. 9, 2006).
The four-company group hopes to start commercial production from TGT by the end of 2007, says Maroot Mrigadat, president of Thailand's PTT Exploration & Production (PTTEP), which holds a 28.5% stake in the production-sharing license.
The group has completed the TGT-2X appraisal well, which tested at a maximum rate of 17,500 boe/d.
This year, the consortium plans to drill two additional exploration wells and one appraisal well and shoot a 3D seismic survey over the 3,350 sq-km tract.
