HOUSTON, Mar. 23 -- An affiliate of Enterprise Product Partners LP has let a contract to Deepwater Specialists Inc. (DSI), a John Wood Group PLC subsidiary, for mechanical completion certification services for the Independence Hub semisubmersible production facility under development on Mississippi Canyon Block 920 in the Gulf of Mexico (OGJ Online, Mar. 20, 2006).
DSI's work includes coordination of mechanical completion and facility integration at the Kiewit Offshore Services fabrication yard in Ingleside, Tex., and on the block. DSI will use a proprietary commissioning certification management system to centralize all mechanical completion data.
Installation of the facility is expected to begin in late 2006. The semi initially will handle output from 15 subsea wells in 10 fields in 7,800-9,000 ft of water, with peak production rates of 1 bscfd and 5,000 b/d of condensate.
