HOUSTON, Mar. 3 -- Carpathian Resources Ltd., Perth, said a consultant's pressure test determined gas in place to be 3.8-4.0 bcf, with as much as 80% recoverable, at its Ja3a well in Janovice gas field 20 km south of Ostrava.

This is 2.5 times the conclusion of an earlier independent analysis. The well, which cut a 33 ft net gas column in Miocene Karpat when drilled in April 2004, went on production Oct. 31, 2005, after completion of a gas plant and pipeline. TD is 1,108 m.

Flow rate of 900 Mcfd increased to 1.35 MMcfd in December 2005. Unigeo a.s., Ostrava, operates the well, and Carpathian's interest is 60%.
