HOUSTON, Feb. 1 -- The government approved the commerciality declaration and development plan for Rodho gas-condensate field, renamed Salsabil field, on the Safed Koh concession and production is to start in the second quarter of 2006, said Rally Energy Corp., Calgary.

The joint venture led by the Dewan Group as operator plans to build production facilities and 22 km of 10-in. pipeline and start production at 15-25 MMcfd with a limited waiver from Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Co. for the 6.1% carbon dioxide content.

Production is to rise to 40-60 MMcfd in March 2007 after amine sweetening facilities are added and two more wells are drilled in late 2006 and early 2007. Those two wells will evaluate the deeper Sembar sand and Chilton limestone.

The undrilled Afiband and Zindapir structures larger than and just south of Salsabil are to be drilled in 2007.
