Crescent lets contract for two Mubarek wells

Crescent Petroleum Co. Inc. has let a contract to Indonesian drilling company PT Apexindo Pratama Duta to drill two wells in Mubarek oil and gas field off Sharjah.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 -- Crescent Petroleum Co. Inc. has let a contract to Indonesian drilling company PT Apexindo Pratama Duta to drill two wells in Mubarek oil and gas field off Sharjah.

The Apexindo Raniworo jack up will drill the wells in 75 days at a cost of $5.2 million/well.

The rig will start work after completing a 2-year contract with Statoil ASA off Iran.

Apexindo, a unit of oil and gas firm PT Medco Energi Internasional, operates nine land rigs and five offshore rigs.
