HOUSTON, Feb. 14 -- Chesapeake Energy Corp. has appointed Steven C. Dixon as executive vice-president of operations and chief operating officer. The appointment follows the resignation of Pres. and Chief Operating Officer Tom L. Ward, a Chesapeake cofounder who will serve as a consultant to the company for 6 months.
Dixon has served as Chesapeake's senior vice-president of production since 1995 and previously as vice-president of exploration.
