Wentworth acquires stake in Permian basin leases

Wentworth Energy Inc. has acquired a 63.75% working interest in producing oil and natural gas leases in the West Texas Permian basin.

HOUSTON, Jan. 24 -- Wentworth Energy Inc. has acquired a 63.75% working interest in producing oil and natural gas leases in the West Texas Permian basin. The acquisition includes 15 tracts in West Cardinal field in Pecos County. Each tract covers 10 acres.

The Fort Worth oil company did not disclose what it paid for the leases and it also did not disclose the sellers.

Wentworth plans to spend up to $400,000 to bring production to 200-300 Mcf/d of gas and 10 b/d of oil, the company said.
