LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 -- Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. Sdn. Bhd. (BSP), a 50-50 joint venture of Royal Dutch Shell PLC and the Brunei government, has reported the start of oil production from Phase III of its Champion West field, 90 km offshore.
BSP Managing Director Grahaeme Henderson said the Champion West well flowed at an initial rate of 16,700 b/d, a record for BSP. The well also is producing natural gas.
