HOUSTON, Jan. 19 -- Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (Gasco), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), has let a contract to Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd. for management services for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase of Gasco's expansion of the Habshan gas complex.

Foster Wheeler was previously selected to provide management services for the front-end engineering design and EPC contractor selection phases of the project. The value of the current contract was not disclosed.

The $1 billion expansion of the Habshan gas complex will process incremental associated gas resulting from an increase in crude production by Abu Dhabi Co. for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), an ADNOC operating company, to 1.4 million b/d from 1.2 million b/d.

The project is slated for completion in mid 2008. It includes the installation of two sulfur-recovery units with a total capacity of 1,600 tons/day, installation of an acid gas enrichment unit, increasing the capacity of pressure-boosting units to feed additional associated gas from Bab oil field for processing, and upgrading the distributed control system (OGJ Online, Nov. 3, 2005).
