LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6 -- Oracle Energy Corp., Vancouver, BC, said it has been notified by operator Yemen Mayfair Petroleum Corp. (YMPC) that a drillstem test of the Beta-1 well on Block 22 in Yemen was concluded Dec. 4 with no hydrocarbons recovered.
The well, which produced hydrocarbon shows during drilling, will be plugged and abandoned.
Beta-1 is YMPC's fourth exploration well on Al Zaydiah Block 22 in the nonproducing Tihama/Jaizan basin along the Red Sea coastal plain north of Hodeida (OGJ Online, Oct. 21, 2005).
