HOUSTON, Dec. 15 -- PCK Raffinerie GMBH has let a €25 million turnkey contract to Uhde for a plant for the etherification of light naphtha with bioethanol at its 220,000 b/cd refinery in Schwedt, Germany.

The contract includes the engineering, supply of all material and equipment, construction management, commissioning supervision, and personnel training.

The plant, using a process licensed by Neste Jacobs Oy of Finland, will have a capacity to produce almost 1 million tonnes/year of high-quality, light naphtha. It is scheduled to be on stream in September 2006.

The refinery will use light naphtha produced by the plant as a high-octane blending component of gasoline.
