LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 -- Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Ltd. has let a lump-sum, turnkey contract to Saipem SPA for development of Marimba oil field in 4,230 ft of water off Angola.
The field will be tied back to Esso's floating production, storage, and offloading vessel on Kizomba A field (see map, OGJ, Oct. 10, 2005, p. 45).
Saipem's contract covers engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea lines.
Esso discovered Marimba in 1998. On test, the discovery well flowed 6,800 b/d of crude oil (OGJ, Apr. 13, 1998, p. 38).
