Vice promoted to president of ICE

IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) reported that Charles A. Vice, currently chief operating officer of the Atlanta-based electronic global futures and commodity operator, has been promoted to president. Vice will retain his title of while adding expanded responsibilities.

HOUSTON, Nov. 4 -- IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) reported that Charles A. Vice, currently chief operating officer of the Atlanta-based electronic global futures and commodity operator, has been promoted to president. Vice will retain his title of while adding expanded responsibilities.

Vice has served as ICE's chief operating officer since July 2001. As president, he will also oversee the execution of ICE's technology strategies.

Vice has more than 15 years of experience in applying information technology in the energy industry. He has been with ICE since its founding, having previously been a member of management of Continental Power Exchange Inc., ICE's predecessor firm. He joined CPEX at its inception in 1994 as marketing director.

Prior to joining CPEX, Vice was a principal with Energy Management Associates for 5 years. During 1985-88, he was a systems analyst with Electronic Data Systems.
