HOUSTON, Nov. 10 -- Statoil ASA awarded a $100 million contract to FMC Technologies Inc., Houston, to provide the subsea separation boosting and injection system for Tordis oil field in the North Sea.

The contract includes a retrievable separation module, manifold module, desander system, multiphase and water injection pumps, and a water injection tree. Along with control systems and topside equipment, umbilicals also are included.

Statoil believes the technology will enable increased recovery from Tordis field by 19 million barrels of oil, said FMC executives. Much of the system is expected to be delivered during first quarter 2007.

The work is part of a subsea well maintenance initiative for 9 fields off Norway (OGJ Online, Nov. 6, 2000).
