Contract let for Indonesian subsea gas line

Indonesian gas distributor PT Gas Negara (PGN) has awarded PT South East Asia Pipe Industry (SEAPI) an $84.2 million contract to construct a subsea pipeline between South Sumatra and West Java.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 -- Indonesian gas distributor PT Gas Negara (PGN) has awarded PT South East Asia Pipe Industry (SEAPI) an $84.2 million contract to construct a subsea pipeline between South Sumatra and West Java.

SEAPI Chief Executive Officer Abas Suriawijaya said the 32-in., 160-km pipeline will deliver natural gas from Labuhan Maringgai in Lampung province to Muara Tawar, West Java.

SEAPI will work on the project with India's Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd.
