Contract let for Angel field subsea systems

Woodside Energy Ltd. has let a contract to FMC Technologies Inc. for subsea production systems for the planned Angel development project 80 miles off Australia's North West Shelf in 262 ft of water. The contract value was not disclosed.

HOUSTON, Nov. 1 -- Woodside Energy Ltd. has let a contract to FMC Technologies Inc. for subsea production systems for the planned Angel development project 80 miles off Australia's North West Shelf in 262 ft of water. The contract value was not disclosed.

The contract commits FMC to supply subsea trees, production controls, and associated equipment for the gas and condensate field.

The field is expected to produce as much as 800 MMcfd of gas and 50,000 b/d of condensate from three subsea wells through a remotely controlled platform.

The project is part of the North West Shelf (NWS) Venture, which is operated by Woodside and equally owned by five other participants (OGJ Online, Apr. 22, 2005).
