Chevron unit plans Mississippi LNG terminal

The Bayou Casotte Energy LLC subsidiary of Chevron Corp. applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to own, construct, and operate an LNG import terminal to be named Casotte Landing in Jackson County, Miss.

HOUSTON, Nov. 1 -- The Bayou Casotte Energy LLC subsidiary of Chevron Corp. applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to own, construct, and operate an LNG import terminal to be named Casotte Landing in Jackson County, Miss.

The proposed project is to be located adjacent to Chevron's 325,000 b/d Pascagoula refinery and would process imported LNG for distribution to in the Southeast US, including Florida. The terminal would have an initial capacity of 1.3 bcfd of natural gas.
