IFP, Riped to develop E&P technologies

Institut Français du Pétrole and PetroChina Co. Ltd.'s Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development have signed a long-term cooperation agreement to develop exploration and production technologies.

HOUSTON, Oct. 18 -- Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) and PetroChina Co. Ltd.'s Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development (Riped) have signed a long-term cooperation agreement to develop exploration and production technologies.

The initial research and development projects have been identified and are scheduled to start in 2006.

The projects will deal with reservoir characterization and the improvement of hydrocarbon recovery through gas injection and polymer techniques.
