HOUSTON, Oct. 12 -- BASF FINA Petrochemicals LP, a BASF Corp. and Total Petrochemicals USA Inc. joint venture, has let a $7 million contract to a US subsidiary of Foster Wheeler Ltd.'s Global Power Group for two custom-designed, shop-assembled package boilers for its petrochemicals plant in Port Arthur, Tex.
Each boiler will have a capacity of 250,000 lb/hr of high-pressure, high-temperature steam.
The Port Arthur plant produces 1.9 billion lb/year of polymer-grade ethylene and 1.9 billion lb/year of polymer-grade propylene (OGJ, Oct. 15, 2001, p. 56).
