PARIS, Sept. 26 -- Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. let a production sharing contract to Gaz de France for a 100% stake in the 1,364 sq km West El Burullus exploration block in the Mediterranean Sea off Alexandria.

The first well is scheduled for drilling early next year. GDF told OGJ that it probably will seek partners for the project.

GDF already held 20% interest in Egyptian block North West Damietta. The PSC allows it to become an operator for the first time in Egypt.
